Kanadische Anfrage
Freundschafts-Austausch mit British Columbia

Trennlinie

My name is Linda Krahn and I am from Castlegar, British Columbia, Canada.  I am a Rotarian and currently serve as Chair of the District 5080 Rotary Friendship Exchange Committee.

You will find my name and contact information in the 2013-2014 RFE District Chair Directory under Canada and the information concerning our exchanges under Canada/USA District 5080. We are a large geographic District covering part of British Columbia, Canada, along with eastern Washington State, USA and the Idaho panhandle, USA. In the 2013-2014 Rotary year we have RFE Exchanges with Brazil D4510, Ecuador D4400 and Turkey D2430.

At the beginning of 2014, I am working on organizing exchanges with Districts throughout the world as per the requests from our Districts’ Rotarians for the 2014-2015 Rotary Year

District 5080 has an active Youth Exchange Program and we are very involved in International Projects in many countries. Each year we have 2 or 3 YE Students from Europe spend a year in our District but we have not participated in an RFE exchange with Germany or your immediate surrounding countries. We are now wondering if it is possible to visit your district during the Rotary year 2014 to 2015. Our exchanges are preferably arranged for the months of September, October, April, and May. Our district usually sends out teams of 4-6 couples or an equal number of individuals for 10 to 14 days. Would it be possible for your district to host such a group?

Our district would also like to invite a Team of Rotarians and partners form D1900 for a reciprocal visit here. District 5080 includes the south-east portion of British Columbia, Canada, the north-east portion of Washington State, USA and northern Idaho State, USA. It is possible for groups to visit both countries in our District or to restrict their visit to either country. We have a geographical diversity that includes the snow-capped mountains of the Canadian Rockies, and it travels southward to pristine lakes and rivers, and fertile agricultural areas in the USA. Our district currently consists of 61 clubs with a membership of about 2800 Rotarians.

This letter is accompanied by a brochure describing our District. Further information can be found at Club Runner, District 5080.

We hope that you will be interested in planning an exchange with our district.

I appreciate your consideration of this request.  Please reply to me at the email address below to acknowledge this email and to inform me if your district is interested in an exchange with our D 5080.

Yours in Rotary Service,

Linda Krahn, Chairperson, RFE D5080
